the only paradise is paradise lost

F21 Kimono | Docs | UO Bustier | Thrifted Shorts

I have been reading a lot and enjoying the end of my summer before work and the new school year hits me. I have taken a lot of time to bask in the sun and really take a breathe of fresh air. In the meanwhile, I will continue to stomp around in my Docs and push forward. Good luck to y'all who are starting uni!

let's get creepy

REMARK top | American Apparel 3D Rose Sweater | H&M Jeans | T.U.K Mondo Creepers

Creepers, too be honest, are just plain creepy. They have this odd look to them that I can't help but really enjoy. Plus, they give me some extra height, which is always nice. I ended up going to dim sum (def: Cantonese food prepared as small bite-sized or individual portions of food traditionally served in small steamer baskets or on small plates) in this outfit and got some really funny looks from the elderly Asian server. I am certain it was the shoes.

white out

I spent a not-so-sunny day in LA, walking up and down Melrose, thrifting and just having a merry time. It's been a while since I had to the time to explore the city and I really miss it. LA has so much art and culture compared to the OC, where everything is all shiny and pristine. It's definitely a different scene. If you guys ever get a chance to shop here, come on a Sunday so you can hit up the Melrose Trading Post. I found some treasures (a.k.a yellow pair of high waisted jeans, vintage bags, and this round reflective sunnies for a steal). Also, don't forget to stop by the infamous MILK for some ice cream sandwiches. I luckily visited on National Ice Cream Day and ended up with two (free) cups of ice cream and a sandwich for two people. I ate most it .... with no regrets.

field daze

crochet top | bcbg pleated maxi | diy sunnies

I have this strange fascination with wild flowers and high deserts. Well, lucky me because this gorgeous landscape is right behind the apartment that I am staying at this summer. I plan on coming here often so, I hope you don't mind if I continue to shoot here. Anyways, you must be wondering how I diy'ed these sunnies. Simple. Faux pearls and a glue gun. I plan on crafting more little diy's, so stay posted! In the meanwhile, you can catch me burying my face into a calculus book and drinking too many cups of black coffee.

sugar we're going down swingin'

I have rekindled my love for sneakers, especially Converse. I used to wear them back in the day and then ditched them for boots and platforms. Now, they're my go-to shoes when I am trekking around my college campus. Plus, there are a hundred of different ways to style them. These babies are new in my closet. I can't wait to take them out to play.

don't kill my vibe

I have been a terrible blogger lately. All these shots are currently being backed up on my hard drive and I seriously need to sit down and take a look at them. Anyways, it's almost the one year anniversary of [aphrodite blue] and four years since I found my way into the blogging world. It's been quite the adventure and I thank all my readers for taking it with me. Y'all are awesome!

trippin' florals

F21 Sweater | Thrifted Dress | Dad's Belt | Boots from the Mall | Vintage Casio Watch

It's almost spring and florals aren't out of season in my style book. I am adjusting myself to the new year and finding ways to re-invent my look. Please forgive my hiatus. I have been gone for almost too long.  But doesn't absence make the heart grow fonder?

Happy be-lated Valentine's Day, loves.

do it well

F21 Moto Jacket | F21 Sweater | Delias Boots | ASOS Necklace | F21 Leggings

Fourteen days into 2013 and I hope you all are doing lovely. I have a lot of dreams and goals that I plan on making into reality this year and essentially, you guys will be here to witness them happen. Now, that I am back in college after a really refreshing and much needed break, here's a casual ootd for all of you. Downtown Disney is always a pleasure to play and dine at because it always manages to set the right tone. It was really chilly so I layered it up. For some reason, I am decked out in Forever 21. Maybe it's because of all the 50% off on sale items that they were having over break. Regardless, one of my goals this year (and the rest of my life) is to only buy essential pieces for my closet. This means no spontaneous online splurges and shopping sprees. It'll save my wallet and my sanity. Anyways, I am excited to share with you all something that I have been pondering and working on for a long while (since last year). Can't wait to launch it in a couple of week.  Anyways, this is a a bit late but cheers to twenty-thirteen.

Whatever you do, do it well.

winter whites

Thrifted Knit | Doc Martens | Vintage Bag | Cotton On Scarf | F21 Jeans

All I did this week was sleep. Winter is here and I feel like I am going into hibernation mode. It's definitely true when I say that my style is a representation of my mood. I was feeling rather cozy the other day after experiencing my first rainfall at university. Though I dislike rainy days, the crispness of the air never fails to rejuvenate my senses.

stay golden

Liz Claiborne Denim | Heritage Moto Jeans | Doc Martens 1460s | F21 Mint Lace Top | Vintage Necklace and Belt

I am addicted to gold accents. When in doubt of what accessory to throw on, I grab for my chunky gold necklace. Gold is such a subtle and sexy color. I love the fact that Doc Martens are lined with a bright yellow thread. The little details in addition to its edgy look and ridiculous comfort have made them my most-worn shoes this season. These boots were a true investment but worth every penny.

the weeknd

Foreign Exchange Blouse | H&M Leggings | Glint & Gleam Necklace | GoJane Booties

I cherish the weekends and late nights with good company. Every day brings new opportunities, surprises, and rewards. I love it. College has surrounded me with so many unique and amazing people and a sort of freedom that I have never experienced. It has more clearly defined my "go hard or go home" mentality and I think that's translating here in my little niche on the wordwideweb a.ka. my blog. I am working on something big...and you guys will love it. Stay in the radar!
